Mill Gears Pvt. Ltd., a Gujarat-based industrial innovator, has unveiled a ground-breaking achievement in the form of one of the world’s largest gearboxes designed specifically for the sugar mill industry. This revolutionary product sets a new benchmark for efficiency and performance, showcasing precision engineering and advanced manufacturing.

Installed at the Jarandeshwar Sugar Mill in Satara, Maharashtra, these cutting-edge gearboxes mark a defining moment for Mill Gears Pvt. Ltd. and position M/S. Jarandeshwar Sugar Mill as one of Asia’s largest operational sugar mills utilising this state-of-the-art technology, processing 24,000 tons of sugarcane daily.

In response to the milestone, Apurva Kusumgar, Director & CEO of Mill Gears Pvt. Ltd., emphasised the significance of the innovation, noting that this achievement underscores the company’s dedication to engineering excellence and the delivery of high-quality, efficient machinery. Regarding the gearbox, Kusumgar highlighted that the gearbox, identified as the AK 483 SQ IP 170 Foot model, represents a 100% inline three-stage planetary gearbox with a remarkable T2max value of 15.3 million kilo newton metres. It is seamlessly integrated with a 1500 kW/1000 RPM Class V AC electric motor featuring a variable frequency drive. The gearbox’s output operating speed spans from 2.5 RPM to a maximum of 3.8 RPM.
